Japan Automobile Federation is an organization which provides motorists road service and campaigns to promote traffic safety. JAF's road service crew is ready 24 hours a day to assist motorists in distress. Tomica released this JAF Service boxed set Volume 1 in October 2005. It contains the Hino Contessa and the Toyopet Corona.
A very nice collection you have here. I'm somewhat jealous to see that the Hino Contessa exists in 1/64 scale while it doesn't seem to do in my beloved 1/43 (that is, in 4-door saloon form)...

Hi Laurent, yes that's true. Still, I think Ebbro should release it in the future. Also, I think there are a lot more model car varieties being produced in 1/43 scale other than other scales like 1/18, 1/64 and 1/24, which make 1/43 cars, highly desirable.
ReplyDeleteWell, Ebbro makes the elegant Contessa coupé, so I too expect that one day... I really hope that I'll finally be able to put side-by-side on my shelf the Renault 8 / 10 and the Hino Contessa - a family reunion of sorts.
ReplyDeleteHi all

Yes, these items are rare now since they were released 7 years ago. If you have a friend in Japan, you can try looking for it on their local website: auction.yahoo.jp (Thats where I got this set a long time ago). I had someone bid on the item and shipped to their local prefecture, then ship again to Manila, Philippines, where I live. You can also try looking for this in Hong Kong as there are a lot of toy stores in Hong Kong that specializes in Tomica. Good Luck! :-)
DeleteSorry, the correct Japanese Yahoo Auction's URL is: auctions.yahoo.co.jp
